Swami Travel, Rishikesh Kamat of Navalai Travel as well as Motor Vehicle Inspector and representatives of other travel agencies in the district. The meeting was organized to prevent traffic congestion in the city due to passenger buses and to manage traffic. Due to the holiday season, passenger traffic from Ratnagiri to Mumbai, Pune has increased. Along with this, road development works are also going on in the city. Due to this, there has been a large increase in the number of vehicles in the city in the evening and problems like traffic congestion are arising. This problem is especially prevalent at the passenger bus stops in the city. To solve this problem, the Transport Department, Police Department and private bus operators are conducting a joint survey to determine safe bus stops. The said stops are being planned in such a way that they will not hinder traffic and will ensure the safety and convenience of the passengers. The bus operators have been instructed to stop the buses only at the specified stops and not anywhere else. Along with this, the departure time of the buses will be planned and all the operators should not leave the buses at the same time but in stages. The said bus drivers have been instructed to estimate the traffic while stopping the buses and take proper precautions and stop the buses in a disciplined manner. For this, the said bus drivers will be counseled. The bus owners have been instructed to check the validity of all the documents of the vehicle such as registration certificate, fitness certificate, license, insurance and pollution control certificate and to ensure that the emergency door and fire extinguisher are in good condition in the bus. All citizens are appealed to cooperate with the administration for traffic management and passenger safety.
