Case registered against three individuals, including Dr. Sejal Pawar, over a controversial incident involving Pranit More's stand-up comedy.

Taking strict action regarding a controversial stand-up show circulated on social media, the Maharashtra Cyber ​​cell has registered a case against famous stand-up comedians Pranit More, Himanshu Jangra, and Dr. Sejal Pawar, as well as the concerned managers. They have been accused of making allegedly offensive and obscene remarks concerning women, consent, and the bodies of deceased persons.Sejal Pawar is emerging as a prominent escort, and there is speculation that the names of two women from Ratnagiri may also be linked to her.
This case has been registered under FIR No. 36/2026 at the Nodal Cyber ​​Police Station of Maharashtra Cyber. During the investigation, the cyber police claimed to have found objectionable content in certain video clips circulated on YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
According to the cyber police, a video was found to contain derogatory remarks about women, and it is alleged that a serious issue like consent was trivialized. The investigation revealed that another clip contained obscene and repulsive comments regarding the bodies of the deceased and human cadavers used for medical education.
In this case, offenses have been registered under Sections 75(1)(iv), 75(3), 294, and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Investigating agencies suspect that the content in question was deliberately recorded and disseminated across various digital platforms. The investigation suggests that the underlying motive may have been to increase social media reach, attract a larger audience, and gain financial benefits.
Meanwhile, summons have been issued to Pranit More, Himanshu Jangra, and Dr. Sejal Pawar for questioning, and the process of recording their statements is underway. Maharashtra Cyber ​​has clarified that further investigation into the matter is ongoing and that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty.
Additionally, Maharashtra Cyber ​​has urged content creators, influencers, and social media users to remain mindful of the law while disseminating online content. Citizens have also been advised not to share or forward objectionable or obscene material.
